Revolution of Dignity

Then president Yanukovych decides not to sign the document on Ukraine’s association with the EU, which provokes peaceful protests throughout the country. The protests soon grow into another form of popular will – the Revolution of Dignity or the Eurorevolution.

This is the struggle of the Ukrainian people against the tyranny of power, corruption, and the foreign economic course of Ukraine, which is determined by the then president.

By his order, the “Heavenly Hundred” (one hundred of protesters) was shot on the main square of Ukraine in Kyiv, Independence Square.

The bloody confrontation between the government and the people has lasted for more than 3 months. Yanukovych calls on Putin to bring Russian troops into Ukraine.

However, all attempts to suppress the popular uprising are futile. So Yanukovych is forced to flee Ukraine. As a result of the Revolution of Dignity, Ukrainians are able to defend their democratic values.
