Annexation of Crimea

Russia uses the weakening of power in Ukraine as a result of the Revolution of Dignity.

At a time when Ukrainians are heroically defending their right to live in a European state on the main streets of Kyiv, fighting against the injustice and arbitrariness of the government, the corrupt Yanukovych government, armed people without identification start to appear in Crimea.

These are regular troops of the Russian Federation, which grab all strategic objects of the peninsula and block the actions of the Ukrainian military.

From day one, Russian authorities have refused to acknowledge their presence in Crimea, and only later Putin acknowledges that it was indeed the Russian military. Eventually, they all receive medals for their “heroic actions towards the return of Crimea to Russia.”
