Dispersal of a peaceful rally

Dispersal of a peaceful rally

On the night of November 30, then president Viktor Yanukovych resorts to armed dispersal of a peaceful rally, injuring many protesters.

Over the next three months, the confrontation is gaining momentum across the country.

The “dispersal of the Maidan” is marked by the beating of thousands of protesters, dismissals for “expressing civil position,” and attacks on journalists and activists.

On February 22, Yanukovych disappears from Kyiv, and on the same day, the deputies support the resolution on the removal of Viktor Yanukovych from the post of President of Ukraine.

Since February 24, 2014, he is wanted in a criminal case for mass killings of civilians.

On January 24, 2019, Yanukovych is found guilty of treason, for which he was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
